The predominant people living in the Khumbu region are the Sherpas. (The term "sherpa" with a small "s" is also used to describe a job, namely assisting a trek or climb as a porter, guide, or other similar position.) These images show some of the Sherpa people who live in the mountain villages along our trek, as well as commerce at one of the major markets, and aspects of the Buddhist spiritual life. |
